Year 6 have taken part in an Enterprise project to kick start the year off. In teams they had to design, buy the ingredients for, make and sell a healthy product to the pupils of school.
First we had a fruit tasting to decide what our likes and dislike were. Then they carried out market research to inform their design and then had to work out the costings of their ingredients by using ratio and proportion skills in mathematics. Following this, they had to make and present a presentation to the 'dragons' in Dragons' Den', trying to persuade them for a loan to buy the ingredients. When successful, we went to Tesco, bought what was on our lists and then made our product the following morning, before selling it at lunchtime. All three classes had a huge success, raising over £300 for chosen charities including Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice.
Well done to our young entrepreneurs and future business owners!
