The FS2 team would like to invite Parents to a MEET THE TEACHERS BREAKFAST to give you the opportunity to share breakfast with your child and to chat with your child’s teacher.

This week is Global Intergenerational Week, and we have had a wonderful time at Housteads Care Home this morning. It was our first session and we have loved getting to know the residents and creating some beautiful pieces of artwork together.

Good morning families

Next week the Y1 children would like to showcase their work to their families.

Tuesday 30th April 2.30pm - Miss Najib's class Year 1 Pearl

Wednesday 1st May 2.30pm - Mrs Cox/Mrs Fazlanie's class Y1 Aquamarine

Thursday 2nd May 2.30pm - Miss Ibrahim's class Y1 Emerald

The children are so excited to showcase examples of work they have done so far this term. Please come along if you can.

On Tuesday 30th April please can all the Y3 children bring extra clothing to wear over their swimming kits as they will be having a water safety session.

Nursery Stay & Play Breakfast

The nursery team would like to invite parents to a STAY & PLAY BREAKFAST to give you the opportunity to share breakfast with your child and to chat with your child’s teachers.

Time: 8:30am-9am (AM Children) & 12.15 - 12.45pm (PM children)

Dear families 

We are delighted to let you know that we have the opportunity to go to an event at Sheffield University (Pennine Theatre) and hear a presentation from the author of one of our favourite books – House with Chicken Legs. This is a great way for students to learn more about the book and gain further excitement for reading.  

The event will take place on Monday 29th April 2024 for all Y4 pupils

The cost of the trip is £2 to cover the bus fares to and from the event, please pay this to the school office.

Children will return to school by midday so lunch and home time will be normal. 

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to speak to your child’s class teacher.

Dear Parent/Carer,

You are invited to a year 6 parent meeting on Thursday 25th April at 2:30-3:00pm. This meeting will take place in the Infant Hall.

This meeting will outline when and what S.A.T.s are and how you can support your child before the 2024 SATs tests in May.

Dear families

As part of our understanding of facilities in our local area we are taking the Y1 children to Darnall Library to have a look at the books and listen to a story.

The visits will take place on the afternoon of:

Tuesday 7th May, 1.30 - 2.30pm – Y1 Aquamarine – Mrs Cox/Mrs Fazlanie's class

Friday 10th May, 1.30 - 2.30 pm – Y1 Emerald - Miss Ibrahim's class

Monday 13th May, 1.30 – 2.30 pm – Y1 Pearl -  Miss Najib's class

If your child has a library card please bring it into school and give it to the class teacher as the children will have the opportunity to borrow some books from the library. Please ensure there are no outstanding payments of unreturned books as the library staff will not allow your child to borrow more books.

Please remember to return books borrowed on our visit back to the library before the stamped date.

For this trip to take place, we will need parent volunteers to attend. If you would like to come, please speak to your child’s class teacher. You would be responsible for a small group of children.

Dear families

On Wednesday 8th May author Paul Grimshaw will be coming to school to read his story "Alvin the cat who couldn't cat " to our Y4 children. If you would like to purchase the book your child/ren Paul will be available after school till 3.40pm in the library to sign your copy - please come along. The book costs £8 and the profits go to the Sheffield Cat Shelter.

We celebrated International Roma Day and Eid at High Hazels with our children, staff and the community, and what a fantastic turn out it was!
