πŸ“–πŸ“– Celebrating World Book Day πŸ“–πŸ“–

World book day was extra special this year as we had some very special visitors. MP Damian Hinds Minister of State for Schools, The National Literacy Trust, and author Rob Biddulph visited school to view our flagship library.

A day the children will always remember!

Maker Move Van - STEAM Workshop in school

Dear Parents/Carers

I am excited to inform you that we have a planned a special visit for Y1-Y6 during British Science Week.

This Workshop/visit will take place on Monday 11th and Tuesday 12th March 2024 and your child will attend one session.

The Maker {Move} Van will return to deliver a workshop where pupils can engage in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) challenges. The focus is on making without a specific goal in mind. Pupils will get the opportunity to create, tinker, test and modify which will develop the skills they need to solve complex problems. We can't wait!

The cost of this workshop is £2 and can be paid via Arbor. The school office is happy to help if you require support with this.

If you have any further questions, please do ask your child’s class teacher.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

World Book Day - Thursday 7th March

πŸ“–πŸ“– World Book Day - Thursday 7th March πŸ“–πŸ“–

Dear families

Next Thursday 7th March is World Book Day and we have some really exciting activities planned! We are inviting pupils to dress up as their favourite book character. Remember, you don't have to rush out and buy an outfit - you can get creative with things that you may already have at home!

We're really looking forward to seeing the children in their costumes next Thursday and dedicating a whole day to immersing ourselves in the amazing world of literature.

As always, thank you for your continued support.

Dear families

Within our school we promote healthy eating, and we would like to take this opportunity to remind our families that crisps, nuts, sweets and biscuits are not permitted as a break time snack or in children’s packed lunch.

Below are some examples of snacks that children can bring in: -

Breadsticks, crackers, and plain rice cakes

Any choice of fruit

Vegetable sticks such as carrot, cucumber and peppers or any other vegetable your child enjoys.

Drinks

We need the children to stay hydrated and so please ensure they bring a named water bottle into school daily. Squash, energy drinks, fizzy drinks and fruit juice are not permitted, including in packed lunches.

Many thanks for your continued support
