Dear families

As part of our understanding of facilities in our local area we are taking the Y1 children to Darnall Library to have a look at the books and listen to a story.

The visits will take place on the afternoon of:

Tuesday 7th May, 1.30 - 2.30pm – Y1 Aquamarine – Mrs Cox/Mrs Fazlanie's class

Friday 10th May, 1.30 - 2.30 pm – Y1 Emerald - Miss Ibrahim's class

Monday 13th May, 1.30 – 2.30 pm – Y1 Pearl -  Miss Najib's class

If your child has a library card please bring it into school and give it to the class teacher as the children will have the opportunity to borrow some books from the library. Please ensure there are no outstanding payments of unreturned books as the library staff will not allow your child to borrow more books.

Please remember to return books borrowed on our visit back to the library before the stamped date.

For this trip to take place, we will need parent volunteers to attend. If you would like to come, please speak to your child’s class teacher. You would be responsible for a small group of children.

In nursery  and the hub we have been baking. We made biscuits for Eid and took them home to enjoy with out families.

Year 3 loved visiting reading bistro. For their starter course they explored picture books, for their main course they explored chapter books and for desserts they explored some interesting non-fiction books. After their visit the children completed a reading comment card and shared their recommendations. Exploring books and developing an interest is all part of our reading for pleasure mission. Dear families

On Wednesday 8th May author Paul Grimshaw will be coming to school to read his story "Alvin the cat who couldn't cat " to our Y4 children. If you would like to purchase the book your child/ren Paul will be available after school till 3.40pm in the library to sign your copy - please come along. The book costs £8 and the profits go to the Sheffield Cat Shelter.

All of the children have had a lovely afternoon celebrating and playing games at their class Eid parties

This week Year 1 have been learning about mass and volume. They have been using the weighting scale to find the mass of an object. They were able to identify which objects was heavy or light.

Good morning families

We would love to invite parents from Y6 Sapphire (Mr Sexton's) class to watch the Y6 showcase assembly On Wednesday 24th April at 10am. The children are so excited to showcase examples of work they have done so far this term. Please come along if you can.
