🌟 FS2 Food For Life Workshop 🌟

Thank You to all our families who attended our “Food for Life” Workshop!

We had an absolutely fantastic time and dived into the importance of healthy eating and the joy of growing our own food! 🥦🍅

Together, we shared awesome tips for building balanced meals, learned fun ways to get kids excited about fruits and veggies, and discussed easy-peasy methods to start your own little garden at home—no green thumb required! 🌱✨

It was so inspiring to see so many families dedicated to building healthy habits and paving the way for lifelong wellness. Let’s keep this momentum going! 💚

Fluency

◀️🔼 Fluency ◀️🔼

In Y5 we created some angles on our table using masking tape. The angles had to be less than a straight line (<180 degrees). We then measured the angles with a protractor and labelled them

This week in nursery we have been reading ‘The Gingerbread Man’ story. The children have been acting out the story and been making their own gingerbread men.

Y5 Trip to National Space Centre

Dear families

On Tuesday 17th June Year 5 will be going on a trip to The National Space Centre in Leicester. As part of the ‘Space’ topic, they will explore the six galleries which are crammed full of space suits, rockets, satellites, and meteorites. Additionally, children will visit the iconic Rocket Tower and the UK’s largest domed planetarium.

Your child will be eating their lunch at the museum, and will therefore need a packed lunch and a drink. If your child normally has free school meals, they will receive a free packed lunch.

Children need to arrive at school at 8:00am and we will be returning to school around 4pm.

The cost of the trip is £20.00 which includes entry to the museum and a planetarium show where children will be immersed in a full 360º cinema experience. It will also include transportation by coach to and from the venue.

Please give permission through the arbor app or speak to the school office. You will be able to pay in installments for this trip.

If you would like any further information, please do not hesitate to speak to your child’s class teacher or any member of the Y5 team.

Y6 SATS Information & Breakfast Club

Dear Parents/Carers,

We are very proud of the effort being made by our Year 6 children as they prepare for the upcoming SATs papers and we would like to thank you for the support that you are giving your child’s revision.

As you know SATs will start on Monday 12th May. We have included a timetable below:

Monday 12th May 2025: Spelling, Punctuation & Grammar

Tuesday 13th May 2025: Reading

Wednesday 14th May 2025: Maths Arithmetic (Paper 1) and Reasoning (Paper 2)

Thursday 15th May 2025: Reasoning (Paper 3)

To ensure the children to come into school and feel relaxed and ready for their exams on time, we will be running a FREE breakfast club each morning from 8:20am. This will be in the dining room. The children will be able to come in and have some toast and juice, fully preparing them for the tests ahead. Please ensure your child’s medical information is up to date in the office to ensure we can accommodate for any specific allergies or food intolerances.

It is vital that children ensure that they attend school daily during SATs week. Should children arrive late or miss days, in accordance with the rules, they will be isolated from their peers until they have completed their papers in order to avoid prior exposure to the content of the test papers.

Please ensure your child gets lots of rest and sleep over the testing period to enable them to perform to the best of their ability.

If you have any questions, please speak to your child’s class teacher.

Thank you for your continuous support and cooperation.
