Parent’s Guide to Taskmaster Club

Welcome to the world of Taskmaster Club—a creative, hilarious, and confidence-building program where students complete imaginative tasks inspired by the hit TV show Taskmaster. Here's how you can support your child and be part of the fun!

What Is the Prize Task?

Each week, students may be asked to bring (or explain) their entry for the Prize Task—a fun challenge where the best item wins points for creativity, relevance, or uniqueness for their group. Sometimes the item can’t be brought in because it’s simply too big (Buckingham Palace) or an abstract concept (love), in those cases the students can draw or write down something to represent it. It all comes down to the explanation as we are trying to encourage the children to develop their reasoning skills and justify their decisions.

  • Examples: “Bring the most unusual pencil case” or “Bring something that makes you laugh.”
  • Tip: Help your child choose something safe, school-appropriate, and imaginative.
  • Explain: Encourage them to think of a reason why their Prize Task entry is the best.
  • Note: Items will be returned unless otherwise stated.

How You Can Engage With Your Child

  • Ask about the weekly task: “What was your challenge today?”
  • Celebrate effort: Praise creativity and teamwork, not just winning.
  • Encourage storytelling: Let them explain how they approached the task.
  • Watch clips of Taskmaster together (child-friendly ones!) to get inspired.

Supporting at Home

  • Help gather materials: Many tasks use everyday items like paper, tape, or string.
  • Practice creative thinking: Try mini challenges at home like “Make a hat from kitchen items.”

🌟 Beowulf 🌟

Y6 dove into the magical world of ‘Beowulf’! We transformed into the characters with some colorful face paint and brought the story to life by acting out scenes. What an absolute blast we had! 🎭💚

🌟 OPAL Playtime Donations 🌟

Good morning, families!

We’re excited to share that our children are having a blast during playtime, and the OPAL project is really taking off! This week, we’re on the lookout for any old pots, pans, suitcases and kitchen utensils you no longer use. If you've got any spare items lying around, we’d be absolutely thrilled to give them a new life in our play sessions!

Also, don’t forget to check out some fun snapshots of the kids enjoying their lunchtime activities from last week! 📸

Thank you so much for your ongoing support! You truly make our community awesome! 💖

💡💡Light Bulb 💡💡

Year 6s have been scientists. We have investigated how the brightness of a bulb is affected by the number of cells/batteries. We had to consider the control variables to ensure it was a fair test.

Happy World Mental Health Day, everyone!

Today, we have teamed up with thousands of young people all over to spread some sunshine by wearing yellow! 🌼 It’s no secret that the world can be a challenging place for our kids and teens.

A huge THANK YOU for helping us raise £170

It was brilliant to see smiles on faces on everyone who joined in the fun run today too! Let’s keep the momentum going and support each other every step of the way! 💛
