๐ŸŒˆ Maker Move Visit ๐ŸŒˆ

This week Y2 enjoyed a super fun STEAM workshop in school! ๐ŸŽ‰

The pupils dove into hands-on challenges in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics, all while making and creating without a specific goal in mind. It was all about exploring, tinkering, and testing, which means they'll develop awesome skills for problem-solving! Take a look at what some of our young innovators came up with!

Y2 Picnic in the Park

We will be taking the children to High Hazels Park on Wednesday, 11th June. This is part of our new writing unit. We will be creating an information leaflet about Sheffield, and we thought High Hazels Park would be a great place to explore. Visiting the park will be a memorable experience and it will aid the children in their writing. We are sure that they will have a fantastic time.

Please ensure that you have given consent for ‘local visits’ on Arbor.

There is no cost for this trip and the children will return to school by the end of lunch time. As we will not be in school for lunch, all children will be provided with a free packed lunch. Alternatively, children can bring their own packed lunch on this day.

What your child needs to bring

We advise children to bring a backpack with all their things for the trip. We politely ask that children bring a drinks bottle with their name on, and the drink inside should be water.

Cold weather and rain

All children must wear full school uniform including sensible shoes.  They will also need to wear a warm, weather-proof coat.  Please ensure your child’s name is written in their coat.

Hot weather

All children must wear full school uniform including sensible shoes. They will also need to wear a hat and sun-cream to protect them.  Please ensure you apply suncream on the morning before the visit and put some in your child’s bag as school staff are not permitted to apply suncream to children’s skin during the day.

If you have any further concerns or queries about the trip, we advise you speak to your child’s class teacher. We are looking for parent volunteers to help with this trip, if you would like to join us, please speak to your child’s class teacher. Please check that your child’s medical information is correct at the school office.

We hope that the children are looking forward to the visit just as much as we are.

Relay Your Way - 13th June

Dear Parent/Carers

We are delighted to let you know that the whole school will be taking part in an exciting event called ‘Relay Your Way’ on Friday 13th June 2025. The event promises to be fun and engaging for all involved, promoting inclusion, physical activity, and school spirit.

About The Event

Relay Your Way is an epic relay across Britain championing the 1.5 million young people in the UK with disabilities, including half a million children living with brain conditions. The event will be stopping at Sheffield, and they have selected our school to take part in a baton pass.

For more information, visit the website: https://www.relayyourway.org/

As part of the event, the organisers (or any third parties instructed by Cerebra) may take photographs, video footage, audio recordings, and gather comments from participants throughout the event. These may be used for promotional, educational, or archival purposes in printed or digital formats, including websites and social media.

If you do not want your child to be included in any such media coverage, please notify the school office, and opt out.

If you have any further questions, please ask your child’s class teacher.

Thank you for your continued support.
