πŸ“–πŸ“– Y3 Reading Bistro πŸ“–πŸ“–

Year 3 loved visiting reading bistro. For their starter course they explored picture books, for their main course they explored chapter books and for desserts they explored some interesting non-fiction books. After their visit the children completed a reading comment card and shared their recommendations. Exploring books and developing an interest is all part of our reading for pleasure mission. What books do you enjoy?

FS2 Library Visit

Dear families

As part of our understanding of facilities in our local area and to link to our current topic of “Where We Live”, we are taking the FS2 children to Darnall Library to have a look at the books and listen to a story.

The visits will take place on the afternoon of:

Monday 22nd April, 10 - 11am – FS2 Opal – Miss. Burgin’s class

Monday 22nd April, 1.30 - 2.30 pm – FS2 Topaz – Miss Hibbert’s class

Tuesday 23rd April, 1.30 – 2.30 pm – FS2 Garnet – Mrs. Victor’s class

If your child has a library card please bring it into school and give it to the class teacher as the children will have the opportunity to borrow some books from the library. Please ensure there are no outstanding payments of unreturned books as the library staff will not allow your child to borrow more books.

Please remember to return books borrowed on our visit back to the library before the stamped date.

For this trip to take place, we will need parent volunteers to attend. If you would like to come, please speak to your child’s class teacher. You would be responsible for a small group of children.

✏️✏️ New Artists ✏️✏️

New term means new artists to explore! Y4 have spent the afternoon researching Henri Matisse in small groups to create mind maps, highlighting his life's key points. Stay tuned to see how they build up their skills, ready to produce their own piece of Matisse-inspired artwork.
