Welcome to High Hazels...

Welcome to High Hazels!

A very warm welcome!

I hope that our website helps to give you an insight into the vibrant life of our school and relays what I feel makes High Hazels Academy the fantastic school that it is.

Our school has a friendly, collaborative community atmosphere where parents, children, staff and governors work harmoniously together. We greatly value the contributions our parents make to school life and believe in a genuine partnership between all stake holders in order to ensure our children benefit as much as possible from their education. Parents are also learners and thus our vision extends to providing a range of adult learning experiences that will transform and regenerate our community.

We place significance on individuality and independence; encouraging children to help themselves and become 'confident learners' whilst fully developing their individual talents within a framework of respect and understanding. We believe that children learn best in a positive, stimulating, safe and secure environment. As soon as a child joins our school we work hard to get to know them well and provide them with the best education possible, helping to nurture and develop them as individuals whilst harnessing their talent and creativity.

Our staff focus on providing the highest possible standards of education and on enthusing pupils with a love of learning. Through powerful knowledge, creative, broad and balanced experiences we inspire confidence and celebrate the uniqueness and successes of all.

We strive to provide every opportunity for all children to develop their abilities to the fullest extent.

Inspired by our core values, we aim to:

  1. Instil Determination to an unrelenting pursuit of goals
  2. Develop Confidence needed to succeed
  3. Awaken the joy of Creativity
  4. Kindle and help fulfil Ambition in everyone
  5. Treat every individual with dignity and mutual Respect
  6. Nurture boundless Enthusiasm

As a United Learning school, we are also committed to providing our children with an Education with Character - #EducationwithCharacter. Whilst we have a very strong focus on building firm foundations for learning and nurturing the important skills of English, Maths and Computing, here at High Hazels Academy we believe that there is more to a good education. We provide a breadth of opportunities and experiences which seek to make school an enjoyable, fun and exciting experience and our curriculum and enrichment programme is overflowing with opportunities to try something new and develop talents and skills. No two days are the same and our pupils are constantly introduced to new and different experiences, designed to prepare them for the next stages of their school life.

I hope that by browsing through our website, you too will understand and share the feeling, ambition and enthusiasm for our school and the community it serves. A child only gets one chance at an education and here at High Hazels Academy we do firmly believe that every child matters and we endeavour to develop 'the best in everyone'.

Mrs A Maqsood-Shah
