   IMPORTANT INFORMATION for Y1 & Y2 Pupils Building work on Infant School Roof Starting Monday, July 7th, our infant school will be getting a brand new roof! While we work on this, please note that some areas will have limited access due to scaffolding. Y1 & Y2 pupils for morning drop-off and pick-up for , please use the KS1 gate on Whitby Road. There will be one entrance for children, but don’t worry—they’ll know the way to their classes! At the end of the day, we’ll line the children up in their class order on the yard for pickup. Thank you for your understanding and support as we improve our school!
   Dear parents Y3 pupils will visit Ponds Forge every Tuesday morning from 11th February - 15th July for swimming lessons. For each lesson your child will need to come to school dressed in their swimwear (underneath their school uniform). They will also need to bring the following: • A towel • A waterproof bag • A change of underwear
   We would love to invite parents from Y5 Alexandrite (Mrs Hayden's) class to watch their showcase assembly on Friday 4th at 9.30am. The children are so excited to showcase examples of work they have done so far this term. Please come along if you can.
   Y3 students are off to Matlock Farm Park in the Peak District on Friday, 4th July! Please drop your child off by 8:40am so we can leave by 8:55 am. We’ll be back by 4 pm, so kindly collect your child from the junior hall. Children need to dress in full school uniform and sensible shoes. Don’t forget a packed lunch and a labeled bottle of water! If it rains, a weather-proof coat is essential!
   As part of our ‘Under the Sea’ topic, FS2 classes will be visiting 'The Deep' in Hull! It’s going to be a fantastic opportunity for the children to dive into the world of amazing sea creatures. **Visit Dates:** Monday 7th July: FS2 Topaz & half of FS2 Opal Tuesday 8th July: FS2 Garnet & the other half of FS2 Opal Please make sure to drop your child at school by **8:15am**. We plan to return by **4:00pm**.
   Nursery get ready for giggles and fun! On Tuesday, 8th July, bring your favorite teddy bear and a cozy blanket to school for a morning or afternoon of teddy bear adventures on the school field. Don’t miss out on the fun – we can't wait to see all the cuddly bears and smiling faces! ��☀️
   Y1 parents! We're off to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park in Doncaster on Wednesday, 9th July, to wrap up our science unit on ‘Animals’. We'll leave school at 9:00 am and will return by 4:00 pm. Please ensure your child is dressed in full school uniform and sensible shoes. If the weather turns, a weather-proof coat will be necessary! A free packed lunch will be provided, but please send your child with a drink labeled with their name.
   The Y5 team would like to invite Parents to a MEET THE TEACHERS BREAKFAST to give you the opportunity to share breakfast with your child and to chat with your child’s teachers. When: Thursday 10th July 2025 Location: Y5 Classrooms Time: 8:40am-9:10am We look forward to seeing you there!
   Our FS2 children are very excited to wear their cap and gowns for their graduation ceremony on Friday 11th July at 9.15am. All FS2 parents, grandparents, aunties, uncles, brothers, sisters, cousins all welcome. Refreshments will be available for everyone! Tickets are on sale now from the school office at 50p each. The ticket includes entry into our raffle draw, and a piece of cake.
   Year 2 are off to Bridlington on Tuesday, 15th July 2025 for a fantastic day at the beach! Get ready for sandcastles, paddling, a picnic, and singing together! �� Please arrive by 8am for our 8:15am departure. Don’t forget to check your child’s contact info and pack a bottle of water, a change of clothes, and a warm coat. If it’s sunny, apply sunscreen before we go! Any questions/queries please speak to your child’s class teacher!
   We’re excited to invite you to our Summer Fair on Wednesday, July 16th, from 2:15 PM to 5 PM on the school field! Get ready for an afternoon filled with fun games, amazing stalls, bouncy inflatables, delicious food, and awesome entertainment. It’s the perfect opportunity to connect with our school community and enjoy some summer fun together! A quick reminder: School will close early that day, so please make sure to collect your child from their usual spot at 2:15 PM. Also, please note that the nursery afternoon session will be cancelled. We can’t wait to see you there for a fantastic day!

   �� Y6 Leavers Celebration �� Dear families, Y6 children are fast approaching the end of their time with us at High Hazels Academy. Staff at High Hazels would like to give them the opportunity to celebrate their achievements and to say goodbye to friends and teachers at the ‘End of Year Celebration’. **�� Date: Friday, 18th July 2025, from 4:30pm to 6:30pm** We’ll have food and would appreciate any donations of drinks.    New School Uniform for September 2024 Dear families, In a bid to make uniform more affordable, we have decided to change our school uniform slightly. Pupils can now wear navy blue sweatshirts/cardigans either with/without the logo, white polo shirt, plain black jogging bottoms/leggings/skirts, black shoes or plain black trainers, children no longer need to wear ties. Girls can wear a pull over type (not loose) scarf in navy or black

A very warm welcome!

I am incredibly proud and privileged to lead High Hazels Primary Academy and look forward to welcoming and introducing you to our fantastic team, who are proud to serve Darnall and the surrounding communities.   

We are committed to ensuring the children of this community continue have the best education possible by following the principles of United Learning Framework for Excellence ; The Best from Everyone, Powerful Knowledge, Education with Character, Continuous Improvement, and Leadership in every Role. Therefore, making High Hazels Primary Academy a hub of academic excellence which everyone associated with will be proud of.   

 We are a school who welcome children from three to eleven years old.  Our school is a family where everyone is valued and recognised as an individual. It is a place where talents and interests are nurtured, and all are encouraged to aim to be the very best they can be in all aspects of life. We believe that every child has the ability to shine, given the right care and support and that our similarities and differences are things we celebrate with pride.
