Its week 3 😊 Let’s see what’s been happening in nursery…………………….

This week in nursery we have continued reading the story 'Dear Zoo'. The children have been painting pictures of animals that live in a zoo and displaying them around the classroom. The sun has been shining so we have spent a lot of time learning outside drawing with chalk, popping bubbles, climbing the equipment, and making mud pies in the mud kitchen! We have also continued with our phonics learning and learnt new sounds including sound ‘g’ and ‘c’. We are so pleased to see the children bringing their phonics homework back to school for the teachers to see! Next week we will start our new story 'Brown bear, brown bear, what do you see?'

Its week 3 😊 Let’s see what’s been happening in nursery…………………….

This week in nursery we have started our new theme ‘All creatures great and small’. We have read the story ‘Dear Zoo’ which has lots of zoo animals in, the children have enjoyed looking at the animals in the story and using words to describe them such as ‘tall giraffe’ and ‘big elephant’. They have been drawing the animals in their own ‘zig zag book’ and painting pictures of their favourite zoo animal. We have continued with our phonics learning and learnt new sounds including sound ‘p’ and ‘o’. We are so pleased to see the children bringing their phonics homework back to school for the teachers to see! Next week we will continue to learn about more animals that live in a zoo

Its week 1 😊 Let’s see what’s been happening in nursery…………………….

We have had a busy week in nursery celebrating the Queens Jubilee! The children have enjoyed learning about the Queen and taking part in many Jubilee themed activities. They have made flags, party decorations and invitations to the Jubilee celebrations! On Tuesday we had our party, the children dressed in red, white and blue and made gold crowns to wear! We ate lots of party food and played games to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee. We can’t wait for next week where we will start our new theme- All creatures great and small!

Its the end of Summer 1 term 😊 Let’s see what’s been happening in Nursery…………………….

We have had a fantastic term in nursery! We have read lots of traditional tales as our theme was ‘Once Upon A time’. We started the term off reading ‘The three little pigs’. The children enjoyed listening to the story and sequencing the events, building houses using bricks, sticks and straw! On the second week back we welcomed new friends into nursery and helped them settle in by showing them all our toys and playing with them.

We enjoyed the beautiful weather and spent lots of time playing and learning in our outdoor area. The children went on mini beast hunts, cooked in the mud kitchen, played ball games and enjoyed riding our brand new bikes and scooters! In phonics we started learning new sounds with the help of Fred the Frog! The children impressed the teachers with how they have remembered all of the sounds! They completed their phonics homework and brought it back to school to show us! This will really help the children that are moving into reception in September! We continued with our traditional tales stories and read the gingerbread man story.  The children used their creative skills to mix paint and paint pictures of the gingerbread man showing different emotions. We even made our own gingerbread men and took them home to eat! It has been a busy, fun filled half term! We can’t wait for next term when we will celebrate the Queens Jubilee and start our new theme ‘All creatures great and small!’.

Its the end of Summer 1 term 😊 Let’s see what’s been happening in Nursery…………………….
