πŸ’ͺ✨ Fine Motor Skills πŸ’ͺ✨

Our nursery children have also been busy developing their fine motor skills this week!

From carefully using pegs to build and balance, to exploring farm puzzles and using tongs to pick up eggs – these activities help strengthen little hands and fingers, supporting early writing and everyday skills. πŸ–οΈπŸ§©πŸ₯š

We love seeing the focus, determination and big smiles as they practise their coordination and control. Well done, everyone! 🌟

πŸ’ΌπŸ’ΌCareers πŸ’ΌπŸ’Ό

Yesterday Y4 had a visitor in school who helped us think about how to behave when we have a job. We talked about our future careers and the different kinds of jobs people might do. We even learnt about unusual jobs - like someone who tidies up all the rubbish floating in space!

It was a great chance to think about what we might want to be when we grow up and how the choices we make now can help us get there.

Morning families!

We’re super excited to share that our Opal Play project is a hit with the children during lunch times! πŸŽ‰ To make it even better, we’re reaching out for your help!

This week, we’re on the lookout for any pushchairs, toy prams, wheelchairs & scooters, that you might have tucked away and no longer use. If you have any of these items, we’d love to give them a new home in our play sessions!

And guess what? We’ve got some fun snapshots of the kids enjoying their lunchtime activities last week! πŸ“Έ

Thank you so much for your ongoing support! You make our community awesome! πŸ’–

World Book Day!

On Thursday, March 5th, 2026, we’ll be celebrating World Book Day! This year, in the spirit of the National Year of Reading, our theme is 'Go All in - If you’re into it, read into it'. We’re encouraging everyone to dive into their hobbies, interests, and the things that make them happy through reading!

To make it even more fun, our dress-up theme is *Wear what makes you happy*! πŸŽ‰βœ¨

Children are invited to get creative with their outfits! Here are some ideas to inspire you:

- Dress up as your favourite book character πŸ“–

- Wear cozy clothes or pjs for that perfect bedtime story vibe πŸŒ™

- Choose something that represents your hobbies, interests, favourite colours, or anything else that makes you happy! 🎨

We can’t wait to see all the amazing outfits and celebrate our love for reading together! Happy reading, everyone! πŸ˜ŠπŸ’–

Y5 Story Slam

This week, our amazing Year 5 students took the stage at the annual UL event StorySLAM held at Hunningley Primary Academy in Barnsley! 🌟 StorySLAM is a super exciting storytelling competition for Y5 & Y6 pupils, where they get to write and perform their very own stories. It's all about sparking creativity, building confidence, and honing those presentation skills!

We're especially excited to share that this year's special guest was Dan Freedman, author of the beloved Jamie Johnson series! The students were absolutely thrilled to meet him! A massive shoutout to Efah for representing our school with such poise and respect. Way to go, Efah! πŸŽ‰
