Its Week 4 - Lets see what's been happening in Y3..............

This week we have enjoyed working on missing numbers on a number line to 1000, writing our setting for our story in the Iron Age and investigating the properties of rocks. We have also practiced using glockenspiels in our music lessons and finding out information about our artist Edith Holden and reflecting her amazing art work!

Its Week 4 - Lets see what's been happening in Reception..............

This week in reception the children have continued to explore the indoor and outdoor environment. They have particularly enjoyed looking at our 15 favourite stories and retelling them to their friends. Outside, the children have been developing their knowledge and understanding of the world digging in the planters, roleplaying in the small world area and making mud pies in the mud kitchen!

Its Week 4 - Lets see what's been happening in Y1..............

This week Y1 have been practising their phonics skills! Phonics is very important in Y1 as it helps us read and write. We do phonics every day and this week the children have been testing each other with their sounds and have been reading green words to each other. We are so proud of the children and have already seen lots of progress in their reading!

Its Week 4 - Lets see what's been happening in Nursery..............

In nursery this week we have been learning all about Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We have enjoyed listening to the story and exploring oats with different sized bowls and spoons. We have also been tasting porridge! We have some lovely apple trees in our school and we enjoyed going to pick some apples and then made a delicious apple strudel with them! Yum ! We would also like to thank our parents for how patient you have all been at collection time.

Mrs Shah's Weekly Message W/C 21st September

Dear Parents/carers

As we start week 4 of this term, I am filled with joy and pride at how well the whole school community is working together to ensure we continue to provide the best education for our pupils.

We have had outdoor handwashing facilities fitted this week in our Junior school yard and will be having some fitted in the Infants school yard next week. This will no doubt help us to continue embedding the good and safe practice of regular handwashing.

This week we will also start trialling serving hot dinners for all pupils in the junior school.  An updated menu link has been sent out to all parents.

Over the next two weeks all our pupils will be sitting baseline tests for English and Maths. This will help us ascertain individual pupil gaps and support the teaching staff in planning for catch-up and keep up. As always, we will be sharing with valuable information about your child’s progress so far before the end of this half term and will include key areas of focus/targets for your child. This will guide you as parents/carers on how you support your child with their learning.

Thank you for your continued support.

Its Week 3 - Lets see what's been happening in Y4..............

In Year 4, we are really getting into our class book - The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane. We are studying it in reading and have started exploring the vocabulary that the author has used. Today, we story mapped the text , thinking about how the characters feel at different points and what might be going through their minds. This has helped us to understand the story and the context of any new words that we come across. I love how creative our pupils have been and the beautiful story maps they have designed.
