Dear Parent/Carer
Year 2 SATS
Over the next few weeks, pupils in Year 2 will be completing the end of Key Stage One tests. The tests will commence on Monday 16th May and continue throughout the month.
It is vital that all pupils are in school every day to ensure they complete these assessments to the best of their abilities.
Pupils will sit 4 assessments: Reading Paper 1, Reading Paper 2, Maths Reasoning, and Maths Arithmetic.
The tests will be completed in small groups with a familiar adult. Children are aware that they will be having quizzes in the next few weeks, but we have been careful not to make them anxious about their SATs tests as teacher assessment is also used to inform final outcomes.
If you or your child have any concerns, please get in touch with your child’s class teacher. Parents and carers will receive KS1 assessment results as part of the end of year reports in July.
To ensure that your child is ready for their assessments, we recommend the following:
- get lots of sleep
- eat a healthy breakfast to set them up for the day
- read with an adult every day
- complete any homework provided
- attend school on time every day
If you have any questions about KS1 assessments, please do not hesitate to ask your child’s class teacher or a member of SLT on the gate in the morning or afternoon.
Thank you for your support, we greatly appreciate it.
Kind regards
Y2 Team
