14 March 2022 Its week 3 😊 Let’s see what’s been happening in Y3……………………. This week, Year 3 have been learning all about newspaper reports. We considered writing with a formal tone, adding detail for the reader, and including quotations to bring dimension to our writing. We planned our reports, practised reporting in the style of TV news and then wrote our own newspaper reports on the theme of fairy-tale crimes. Take a look! Read more
11 March 2022 The Date Project The idea and concept was simple, to raise funds for the Al-Huda Bakery in Syria by selling a box of the finest Medjool dates for £10 during Ramadan. Each box sold raised funds for fifty loaves of bread for a Syrian family. The Date Project is a initiative started and run by volunteers with 100% of profits going to charity. In the first year of the project, 100,000 loaves of bread were distributed, and in 2016 a phenomenal 3.5 million loaves of bread were produced as a result of this initiative. For Ramadan 2017, Palestine was added with a beautifully designed box in Palestinian colors being sold as the perfect gift nationwide. We are supporting The Date Project by selling dates on our school yard next week for £10 per tin. These will be available to buy after school from the PTA members. 03 March 2022 Change of Start & Collections Times for Pupils - Starting Monday 7th March Dear Parents/Carers, I am writing to inform you that we are making some changes to our start and end of day procedures. The following changes will begin on Monday 7th March 2022. Drop off Procedures: Drop your child off at the gate (or FS2 classroom doors) at the above time. Children can walk straight into school. Members of staff will be positioned throughout school to support. Pick up Procedures: Arrive at the correct gate for the end-of-day time. Go to your child’s year group area and wait behind the cones/tape. Please do not approach your child. Your child’s class teacher will send your child to you. Please then leave the playground. It is vital that your child is on time every morning, for your child to maximise on their learning times. They must be at school at 8:40am (or 8:30am in nursery) ready for the gates to open. All learning will start promptly at 8:50am. Please ensure that you collect your child on time at the end of the day. The gates will close at 3:25pm. Late collection of your child not only has a negative impact on their well-being but also means that staff are not able to use their directed time effectively. We appreciate your continued support and thank you for your cooperation. Yours sincerely, Mrs Maqsood-Shah Read more
