Year 3 have had a very busy and exciting start to the year! At the start of the term, the children were immersed in the new topic ‘Invaders’ by designing and creating a class flag and then ‘invading’ other classrooms around the school! The children’s knowledge in history has then developed immensely looking at how the Vikings lived, travelled and even dressed!
After this, the children have looked at heritage focusing on our local area and our personal family trees. This has then led them to design and create a lantern highlighting the children’s personal heritage and backgrounds.
Throughout the term the children have worked scientifically investigating different rock types and how they are formed. They have conducted scientific experiments and accurately recorded results.
Finally, the children have also been on a visit to Darnall library where the children enjoyed looking at the books and learning how to borrow books using their library cards.
