Y5 Space Centre Visit

Dear Parents/Carers,

On Tuesday, 16th June Year 5 will be going on a trip to The National Space Centre in Leicester. As part of the ‘Space’ topic, they will explore the 6 galleries which are crammed full of space suits, rockets, satellites, and meteorites. Additionally, children will visit the iconic Rocket Tower and the UK’s largest domed planetarium.

Children will be eating their lunch at the museum, therefore will need a packed lunch and a drink. If your child normally has free school meals, they will receive a free packed lunch.

Children need to arrive at school no later than 8:00am and we will be returning to school around 4 o’clock.

The cost of the trip is £20.00 which includes entry to the museum and a planetarium show where children will be immersed in a full 360º cinema experience. It will also include transportation by coach to and from the venue. If you need to pay this amount in instalments, please speak to the office and they will arrange this with you.

All monies need to be paid through the arbor app or by bank card with the school office as we no longer accept cash.

If you would like any further information, please do not hesitate to speak to your child’s class teacher or any member of the Y5 team.

Yours sincerely

Year 5 Team

🌟🏃‍♀️🏃 OPAL Playtime Donations Alert! 🏃🏃‍♀️🌟

Morning families!

We’re super excited to share that our Opal Play project is a hit with the children during lunch times! 🎉 To make it even better, we’re reaching out for your help!

This week, we’re on the lookout for any old pots and pans, baking trays and sieves that you might have tucked away and no longer use. If you have any of these items, we’d love to give them a new home in our play sessions!

And guess what? We’ve got some fun snapshots of the kids enjoying their lunchtime on the last week of term! 📸

Thank you so much for your ongoing support! You make our community awesome! 💖

📢🌸 School's Out for Spring Break! 🌸📢

School is now closed for the May Spring Bank Break! 🎉✨ I hope you all have a fantastic break especially with all that sunshine coming our way!

It’s been quite a busy half term for us all! From FS2 Growing Day, the Lord Mayor’s visit, to our Bike ability sessions, Year 4 residential, Y3 and Y4 cricket sessions, and the EYFS open evenings and play-and-stay sessions—plus our visits to the Emergency Services Museum and Matlock Farm—what a whirlwind it has been! And guess what? There’s even more for us to look forward to next term!

I also want to take a moment to wish all our families a joyful and blessed Eid ul-Adha next week 🌙✨

So, mark your calendars! 🗓️ We can’t wait to see all the pupils back in school on Monday, 1st June 2026.

Wishing you all a fun and restful Spring Bank holiday! 💖🌞
