Dear Parents/Carers
We are excited to inform you that on Wednesday 1st May Year 2 will be attending the National Emergency Services Museum (NESM). This will link to our new history topic, ‘The Great Fire of London’. We hope to make this a memorable experience for the children and further their understanding of London in 1666.
During the day, the children will learn how the Great Fire of London was extinguished and the legacy it holds. Children will also get the opportunity to handle replica objects and try out some methods the soldiers used to fight the fire. As all three classes are visiting on the same day, we aim to leave school at 8.40am, so please arrive at school for 8.30am. We expect to return to school for our usual home time at 3:15. If there are any delays, the office team will contact you. Please make sure your contact details are correct at the main office.
The trip will cost £7.50 per child. This includes admission to the NESM and bus fare. Please return all payments to Arbor. If you have any questions about how to pay for the trip on Arbor, please speak to the office team who will assist you further.
What your child needs to bring
We advise children bring a backpack with all of their things for the day. We ask that children bring a spare change of clothes and a water bottle with their name on.
All children will be provided with a free packed lunch by school. If your child is bringing their own packed lunch, please let their class teacher know.
All children will need to wear their school uniform and sensible shoes. Please make sure children have got a coat suitable for the weather with their names written inside.
Prior to the trip, we ask that any medical information is up to date, you can check this is correct at the school office. If you have any further concerns or queries about the school trip, we advise you to speak to your child’s class teacher.
We hope that you are looking forward to this experience just as much as we are.
