Y3 Greek Day

🌟 Y3 Greek Day 🌟

Yesterday was an incredible day in Y3, as they dove into Ancient Greek culture! Our young learners transformed into ancient Greek rulers and had an absolute blast with some fantastic activities:

🏆 Mini Ancient Greek Olympics – who doesn’t love a little friendly competition?

🎨 Painting ancient Greek artefacts – watch out, future artists!

✂️ Crafting their own ancient Greek uniforms – creativity was flowing!

🍽️ Enjoying a traditional ancient Greek meal – yum!

It was a day filled with laughter, learning, and a sprinkle of fun

Y3 Trip to Matlock Farm Park

Over the course of Year 3, we will be studying the Peak District in Geography. To support the children with their understanding of what the Peak District has to offer, we will be going on an educational visit to Matlock Farm Park in Derbyshire.

The visits will take place on:

Friday, 4th July

To get a full day at the farm, we aim to leave school at 8.55am, so please drop your child to school at 8:40am. We expect to return to school by 4.00pm. You will need to collect your child from the junior hall. If there are any delays, the school’s office team will contact you by 3.30pm. To ensure you can receive any updates on delays, please check your contact details are correct at the school’s main office.

We are asking for £20.00 per child which covers the cost of the coach and entry to the farm. Please return payment and consent via the Arbor app.

If you have any concerns or questions about payment, please speak to your child’s class teacher as soon as possible so alternative arrangements can be made. If there are any difficulties with using the Arbor app for payment, then please see the school office.

For this trip, children must wear full school uniform including sensible shoes/wellies. You will need to provide your child with a packed lunch and a bottle of water with their name written on it. If your child is in receipt of free school meals a packed lunch will be ordered for them.

In the event of wet weather, we are asking that all children bring a weather-proof coat with their name written in it.

If you have any other questions or queries about the trip, please talk to your child’s class teacher.

In the meantime, why not visit Matlock Farm Park’s website at: https://matlockfarmpark.co.uk/  with your child in preparation for the visit?

Exciting Author Visit

Today was nothing short of extraordinary as we welcomed the talented author **John Patrick Green** to our school! The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement as he held engaging workshops for our Y2, Y3, Y4, and Y5 students. Each session was a creative adventure where our young learners participated in drawing lessons and learned the art of designing storyboards. It was incredible to see their imaginations come to life!

The children were in awe of John’s storytelling and artistic skills, and it was clear that we have some future artists and authors among us! During the workshops, John took time to answer questions from our curious minds about the life of an author, inspiring them to dream big.

We also had a special treat for parents who joined the fun! They had the opportunity to purchase some of John’s fantastic books, which he graciously signed, making the day even more memorable.

All in all, it was a fantastic day filled with creativity, inspiration, and a whole lot of fun! We can’t wait to see where our budding authors take their talents next!
