Y4 had an amazing time visiting Darnall library this week.

The librarian welcomed us warmly, explained what a library is and how it works!

After that, we had the chance to explore the children’s section -discovering new books, reading spaces and lots of exciting stories.

Dear Parents/Carers

On Tuesday, 20th October Y1 children will be visiting Sheffield Crucible Theatre, to watch a performance of Izzy Gizmo. This is part of a music project the children have been involved with. The trip will leave school at 9am and will be back in time for home time. Children will receive a packed lunch from school, however If your child has an allergy, please provide their lunch for them.

The FS2 team would like to invite Parents to a MEET THE TEACHERS BREAKFAST to give you the opportunity to share breakfast with your child and to chat with your child’s teachers.

Y5 have been diving into the world of comparative information texts 📚✍️ Our young writers are exploring how to compare and contrast different subjects, and the creativity they are showing is fantastic!

Y1 had a great time this afternoon making fruit kebabs! It’s been a fun way to learn about healthy vs. unhealthy snacks. We got to evaluate our work by tasting it! What a delicious way to reinforce our learning! #HealthyEating #FruitKebabs #FunAfternoon

This half term, Y6 have been studying electricity in science. To support their learning, Y6 will have an educational visit to Magna Science Adventure Centre in Rotherham. This is sure to be a fantastic opportunity for all! The visits will take place on:

Wednesday 4th November 2026 – Y6 Sapphire and ½ Y6 Amethyst

Tuesday 10th November 2026 – Y6 Rhodonite and ½ Y6 Amethyst

Get ready to solve problems using knowledge of electrical circuits ⚡️

As part of our writing unit, Y1 children are going to be describing their favourite toys. To help children to do this please bring in one toy of your choice from home on Wednesday 7th October.
