Y6 Residential Trip

Dear Families

As part of our offer of ‘Education with Character’, 30 Y6 children have the opportunity to take part in a 2-night residential at Thornbridge Outdoor Pursuits Centre, in Derbyshire.

Date: 3rd - 5th June 2024 Cost: £100.00 per child

The full price covers accommodation, activities, with instructors, food and travel.

This is a fantastic opportunity for children to develop their team building skills, their resilience and engage in new experiences. The children will receive expert instruction in a variety of activities over the 3 days. All Thornbridge instructors are fully qualified and experienced.

Children will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. To secure a place, please provide a £20 non-refundable deposit to the school office along with the consent form your child has brought home today.

Further information will be provided when all children have been allocated a place.

As the holy month of Ramadan will start on 10th March, we appreciate that some of our older children will be wanting to Fast. It is extremely important that we have parent/carer consent for children who will be fasting.
 
While we understand children will want to Fast, we would advise that children below Y5 keep their Fast during the weekend as when they are in school, they are very active and at this time of year there a lot of things happening.
 
For Health and Safety reasons if any child becomes unwell during their Fast, we will contact parents for permission to give them food and drink. Parents may be advised to take their child home. On a hot day we will also be asking those children who are fasting to stay indoors/in the shade.
 
Can you please complete the electronic permission in the consent section of the Arbor app.
 
Children will not be allowed to fast without parental consent.

To help boost children’s progress and build confidence in their learning before SATs, we are offering you a 60% discount on a pack of revision guides which will help your child revise effectively.

The cost for these guides is £10 for 5 revision workbooks.

If you would like to purchase this pack of revision workbooks, please bring £10 in an envelope with your child’s name on to the office. Please pay this by the Friday 23^rd February.  We will then order and hand these guides to your child as soon as they are delivered.

** Parent Forum Meeting **

NOTE MEETING WILL NOW START AT 9.15am

Good morning families.

We were due to hold the parent forum meeting on Friday 2nd February, however due to a short term and Ramadan due to start early March we will now hold the parent forum meeting on Friday 8th March at 9.15am in the infant hall.

We have been very impressed by the number of parents who have attended the last two meetings and hope to see you all again in March. Our principal will present latest school updates, news and plans for the school year.
