Dear Parents/Carers
As part of this term’s work on personal safety, all the Y6 children will be taking part in “Crucial Crew”.
This is an interactive scheme for young people to learn about, and react to, a variety of real life-type situations: Home Fire Safety, Arson, Bus Safety, Road Safety, Child Criminal Exploitation, Mock Court Trial and Knife/Hate Crime.
It is run by South Yorkshire Police and other professional agencies. Our staff will be, of course, accompanying the children at all times.
It takes place at ‘The Lifewise Centre’, Rotherham.
The pupils will be attending on:
Wednesday 17th January 2024 – ALL of Y6 Sapphire and ½ of Y6 Amethyst
Friday 19th January 2024 – ALL of Y6 Rhodonite and ½ of Y6 Amethyst
We shall leave school after the register, by coach, and return to school by 3:00pm. Your child will also need a packed lunch and water but, as usual, if your child normally has free school meals, they will receive a free packed lunch.
We are asking for a contribution of £10 towards the cost of the coach travel.
The visits have been carefully planned. The Police have carried out Risk Assessments and a copy of this will be available in the School Office for anyone to see. All children going out on school visits must have a completed General Consent Form and Emergency Medical Treatment Form which is taken from the Education Department’s Code of Practice Number 14 and is in line with school’s own health and safety guidelines.
Thank you for your continued support.
Many thanks
Year 6 Team
