Good afternoon families,

Please join us in congratulating our Y4 pride and value award winning pupils this week.

The final Y4 trip to Grimm & Co is taking place today. Despite the grey weather, Y4 spirit's were not dampened! Students created and brought home their own, unique storybooks with Grimm & Co. Working alongside an artist, a scriber and other members of the team, students worked both independently and in groups to make their own, special fictional piece. Plus, the grandeur of the Grimm & Co building never fails to get the creative thoughts running. Thank you for having us, Grimm & Co!

Dragon's on the loose

There are dragons on the loose at High Hazels Academy! FS2 have been designing wanted posters to help us catch them, using adjectives to describe the dragons.

WE ARE KNIGHTS!

This term FS2 have been learning about castles and knights. This week they have been making some amazing knight headbands using the collaging technique and roleplaying being a mighty, brave knight.

This term Y1 have learnt about the artist Charles McGee and how he used pattern, tone and contrast in his work. This week we have made our final pieces - a 3D sculpture!

Zog The Dragon

After reading Zog, the FS2 children have been making their own dragons in the creative area.

Phonics with Fred

Today in nursery we played a phonics game with ‘Fred the frog’.

Y4 have been starting their division. Working in Kagan structures for a co-operative approach, they have been helping each other solve division sums using dienes. Keep up the good work, Y4!

What a wonderful start to the week. Students have been reading about the rainforest and how they to protect it. Today, they summarised the key points and drew little images to help them retrieve the key points. Keep up the good work, Y4!
