Y3 Trip to Crucible

Good morning families

As part of our love of reading across school, the Y3 children have been invited to a workshop with author and illustrator Satoshi Kitamura, whose much loved books include ‘Once upon an ordinary school day’, ‘Stone age boy” and many other great stories.

This is going to be an amazing day where the children will watch Satoshi draw live on stage, read stories, and talk about his books, his work and what inspires him as an author and illustrator. They will also receive a free book, to keep forever.

The event will take place at The Crucible theatre in Sheffield City center. The children will be going on Monday 6th November.  We shall leave school after the register, go by public bus, to get to the theatre for 10.30am and return to school by 3:00pm. Your child will also need a packed lunch, water and their coat but, as usual, if your child normally has free school meals, they will receive a free packed lunch.

The cost for this event will be £7.00. Bus fare will be paid by school.

As usual payment and consent is through the arbor app. If you haven’t set up your account on arbor, please ask for an invite from the school office.

If there are any delays, the school’s office team will contact you by 3:00pm. To ensure you can receive any updates on delays, please check your contact details are correct at the school’s main office.

For this trip, children must wear full school uniform. You will need to provide your child with a packed lunch.  If your child is eligible for free school miles, a packed lunch will be provided for them.
