FS2 Food For Life Workshop

FS2 would like to say a massive thank you to all the parents who attended the Food For Life themed workshop. It was fantastic to see so many families come and take part in all the fun activities. We saw you having loads of fun making fruit kebabs, sorting foods into 'healthy' and 'unhealthy', making grow kits and seed tape to plant in your gardens. We hope you got an insight into the project and what we are trying to achieve. Remember all the things you can do at home to support your child make healthier choices in an exciting and engaging way. We were overwhelmed with the fantastic feedback from parents, one writing "Very clear, inspirational way of educating children about healthy eating". Thank you all so much and keep an eye out in the children's book bags for a Food For Life homework grid!

Matisse's Collages

As Matisse's collages had a lot of shapes that looked like they were inspired by leaves, Y4 went into the garden to sketch some of the plants there. Luckily, it was a sunny afternoon and lots of ladybirds joined us!

This is in preparation for our sculptures that we will start next week. What a lovely start to the week.

Y4 House with Chicken Leg Visit

Y4 had a wonderful opportunity to go to Sheffield Hallam University and meet Sophie Anderson, the author of one of our favourite books. She told us what inspired her to write The House with Chicken Legs and how her other novels share similar ideas. It was an informative and fun trip.

The children loved their ancient Greek banquet. The ancient Greek diet provided balance between plant-based and animal-based foods. Staple plant foods included grains, legumes, vegetables, fruits, nuts and olive oil.
